Play May 2026

During this event on 4 June 2026, MHRC members enjoyed socialising over lunch and engaged in a MAPL (Make Play) workshop, facilitated by MHRC member Dieter Declercq. The philosophy behind a MAPL workshop is that imaginative play can stimulate new forms of communication and connection - and can foster new ideas accordingly. To stimulate this imaginative playfulness, a MAPL workshop uses a bespoke kit of panels and connectors, which enables participants to build object and artefacts at scale. By using these objects, topics can be thought through in a visual and spatial way. One of the results is shown in this photograph from the event, which also led to concrete suggestions for our plans in 2026-7.
