Emma is a playwright and practice-researcher, exploring how sibling relationships involving autism or neurodivergence are represented and rehearsed in drama.
Emma is a PhD student in theatre studies with a focus on literary and cultural representations of disability. Her doctoral research explores how sibling relationships involving autism or neurodivergence are represented and rehearsed in drama, through a practice-research playwriting project and critical analysis of existing works. More broadly, she is interested in cultural models of disability and care relationships, as they are reflected and reinforced through fiction. She also has an interest in stagings and adaptations of early modern drama—her MA thesis looked at the staging of disability across different productions of Richard III.
