Yuchang_Zhao

Yuchang is currently a doctoral researcher at the University of Glasgow, specializing in Medieval History. Her research focuses on a comparative study of leprosy in medieval China and England. By examining historical records, medical texts, and social responses, Yuchang aims to explore how leprosy was perceived, treated, and managed in these two distinct cultural contexts during the medieval period. Her work particularly highlights the differences and similarities in the societal and religious attitudes towards the disease, as well as the impact on affected communities. Through this comparative approach, Yuchang seeks to contribute to a broader understanding of medieval public health and the intersection of medicine, religion, and society.
