Published: 11 May 2026
Tuesday, 19th May 2026 6-7.30pm

Presented by Ulrika Bergmark, Luleå University of Technology
The presentation begins with a brief introduction to the Swedish school system and then examines key initiatives that support research–practice collaboration. These include the National Professional Program, which aims to promote structured and equitable professional development by strengthening teaching, leadership and specialized competencies, and the national ULF initiative (Education, Learning, Research), which develops and tests sustainable models for collaboration between academia and the school system in relation to research, school practice and teacher education. In addition, the presentation discusses practice placement partnerships in preschools and schools, as well as a graduate school focused on practice-based educational research. The national initiatives are complemented by several local collaborations that illustrate how research–practice partnerships are implemented in our own context.
This is split into two sessions -
