Impact Consultations
As part of our Skills & Training programme, we are pleased to be able to offer funded one-to-one impact consultations for researchers working within any of the 5 National Quantum Technology Programme (NQTP) Hubs.
The sessions, which are currently offered on a first-come-first served basis, will be delivered by Atkin Consultancy.
Expressions of Interest: If you, or one of your colleagues are interested in participating in a one-one session, please email Hub Manager, Steven.Kendrick@Glasgow.ac.uk, with a short paragraph outlining your reasons and how this session may benefit you/them. We’ll be in touch thereafter to inform you of the next steps.
Who are the sessions for?
Sessions are designed for researchers with ongoing or completed projects that show potential for technological, societal and economic benefit, or for those looking to enhance stakeholder engagement and impact narratives. The consultation will help you refine your approach, gather evidence, and plan for meaningful, lasting impact.
Session content and objectives:
Sessions will be informal 60-minute one-one discussions, conducted online. Participants will receive personalised advice tailored to your research profile, focusing on embedding impact into your strategy, demonstrating achieved outcomes, and exploring future opportunities for long-term influence.
After the session, you will receive a concise summary outlining the discussion and recommended next steps, helping you proactively maximise both the reach and significance of your research through expert guidance and informal discussion and contribute to QEPNT’s overall impact.
Why is this important?
A strategic, long-term approach is essential for sustaining progress and achieving meaningful impact, particularly in the physical sciences, where researchers face abstract challenges, unpredictable outcomes, lengthy development timelines, and barriers to adoption. Given these complexities and uncertainties, a forward-looking plan is crucial to successfully translate pioneering research into societal and industrial benefits.
By embedding impact from the outset, QEPNT aspires to showcase real contributions to society and industry, build strong partnerships with government and commercial stakeholders, influence policy and adoption, and cultivate a research environment where delivering meaningful outcomes forms a core part of training and development.
